9 månader på eurasiska kontinentens ostkant. 9 months on the Eastern side of the continent.

As expected Sweden made it to the final. "Euphoria" was without doubt the best song this morning. However, I don't understand how Bosnia & Herzegovina made it. My hearing is getting better, but it is not fully recovered yet.

While thinking about whether to go back to sleep or not, I may upload some more photos from the week beginning with 16th of April.
Roligt.
This sign was rather funny and way too honest marketing. I would imagine our marketing book authors would object were they consulted prior to the writing of this.Födelsedag!
Här vankades det 21-årskalas!
Inte kinesisk mat.
First Western meal in two weeks. Edible, I would say, not that amazing. Chinese food in Sweden is by the way better than in Shanghai, so I recommend everyone to really enjoy it while there.
Växter.
Interesting picture of Lu Xun created with plants. Entrance to the museum inside Luxun Park is free, but a ticket needs to be picked up outside.
På natten.
It would take more than two weeks before we visited the legendary Nanjing dong lu.
Tittar på tv-tornet.
Chairman Mao overlooking Pudong. Unfortunately it was an evening of heavy clouds meaning that some of the skyscrapers were not visible.
Bussen till Zhujiajiao.
På utflykt! The bus trip to Zhujiajiao took about 1 hour and cost 12 yuan one way with public transport. The buses leave from Pu'an Road bus terminus on the southern side of People's Square. At the Zhujiajiao bus station there will be tour bus operators trying to convince you to travel with them on the way back: the 12 yuan bus can easily be noticed by the line of local people standing in front of it.
Kanal.
An excursion to the village of Zhujiajiao, filled with tourists.
Hur komma ut?
In a cave.
Kinesiskt hus.
Our house. With 45 000 kr you can get quite an estate in Shanghai!
Vatten och rund port.
From here we take the boat to school every morning.
En liten båt, bliver ofta våt...
On our way to school. Boats in Zhujiajiao cost 60 yuan per boat.
Men ingen Jade-Buddha.
I was not allowed to photograph the Jade Buddha in the Jade Buddha temple, but I can assure you that the piece of jade was very large.

I am still very ill, but the illness is currently not as painful as before. The antibiotics do not seem to work, as I am as deaf as before. Tomorrow I will run out of medicine: paying 1 000 kr to visit the doctor again does not feel particularly tempting. On the bright side: this is the Eurovision Song Contest week, which means that Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings will be very early.

Some more pictures from the second week in China.
School began instantly with the blackboard being filled with hanzi. 马老师, one of our two teachers.
Koriander, degknyten.
Degknyten i korianderbuljong. Koriander tillsätts i allt.
Pengar!
Some money. During 3 days we had to spend some 45 000 kr in cash to get our flat. As the most valuable banknote in China is worth merely 110 kr it meant many trips to the automatic teller machines and thick wallets. Now all is gone...
Qipu lu.
Crazy clothes shopping street, Qipu lu. Shopping centre after shopping centre with several floors of clothes, people dragging carts filled with clothes they bought.
Dancing Chinese dances (with Chinese) in Luxun Park on a Sunday. Very fun, but difficult.

Publicerad 2012-05-19 14:26:20 i Allmänt

To meet public demand I decided to open this blog, now that I am sitting terribly ill in our sofa a Saturday night in Shanghai, as if there would not be anything more exciting to do. I am not that fond of writing, at least at present and especially not in English, so this will be more of a picture blog.

By travelling to the airport with Västtrafik, with Röd express, changing buses in Landvetter C, we paid merely 40 kr for the trip from Göteborg.
-
The flight, return ticket, from Göteborg to Shanghai cost 4890 kr. Departing at 15.30, 45 minutes to Copenhagen, departing 18.25 10 hours to Shanghai (although our plane was somewhat delayed).
-
Maglev: 40 yuan, 8 minutes, 35 kilometers from Pudong Airport to Longyang Road Station.
-
Obegriplig handrörelse.
-
Orientens pärla, Oriental Pearl Tower, entrance ticket to the first two pearls 120 yuan.
-
Detta haver insupats litervis sedan ankomsten.
-
-
Potential flat, although the landlords were not that interested in getting tenants in their flat that had been empty for 3 years. Nice view, though.
-
Kinesiska Ikea haver självklart ätpinnar!
